Showcasing Masco's history and values at their new HQ
When Masco moved into their new headquarters in Livonia, MI, they were looking for a way to share their inspirational history with visitors. With the help of the team at Masco, images were cultivated to accompany the story of Alex Manoogian's (Masco's founder and first CEO) rise from a refuge escaping Armenian genocide with nothing, to building and leading one of the most successful companies in the US. From there, the design was laid out within the space of the history room walls provided. Once the design was approved, final art was created and the build and installation of the rear illuminated panels and other displays in the room were coordinated with the architects and chosen fabricator.
While designing the history room, other areas around the headquarters were identified by the client that could use a bit of environmental refinement. We created inspirational graphics for the walls leading to the gym and locker rooms integrating the brand colors, created unique locational signage, and a graphic outlining where all of the company's products were used throughout the building.
One of the more interesting challenges was the request for their brand values to be displayed along curved walls. Each 3D letter was hand fit to the curvature after we defined the layout for each wall.
