Custom radiator brackets and cooling plate for Kheim's FD
Following the aerodynamic makeover for his FD, Khiem needed custom radiator brackets and a cooling plate to work in conjunction the RE Amemiya front bumper. He dropped the car off a few days before its public reveal at Formula Drift in Dallas and Prince Customs took care of the rest.
The new bumper had a completely different profile under the lip of the hood so the standard radiator brackets and cooling plate wouldn't work anymore. A new bracket style was fabricated and bent from 1/8" thick aluminum and mounting locations were added to the front cross bar with rivet nuts. For the radiator cooling plate, a custom piece was created based on his old parts. After trimming the aluminum plates to fit the new bumper dimensions and redesigning the mounting positions, rubber trim was added to the front edge to protect the freshly painted bumper. Finally, all the pieces were sandblasted for a uniform finish to match the compressor side of his turbo
